What do you like most about teaching and being a teacher?
Teaching is an essential part of who I am. It has been my greatest passion and it always will be. Teaching gives me a purpose in my every day life. It allows me to reflect on my own growth. I am not only teaching but I’m also learning consistently. The experiences I gain help me to take risks and try new things. I love being with children because they bring out the child in me again. Naturally, children love to laugh and so do I. Their hearts are pure and their personality traits are genuine. They give you unconditional love that is incomparable to anything. In teaching, I am able to nurture the children’s mind with what I have. It is a great pleasure to see these children develop their skills and be proud of themselves. It never ceases to amaze me how children respond to every challenge in the class.
Furthermore, I love the thrill of doing activities with children. Teaching gives me a lot of opportunities to convey my ideas in many fun ways. I like the fact that I can use different approaches in teaching. Relatively, it stimulates my creativity and allows me to express myself comfortably. Teaching is an absolutely rewarding profession. It gives me happiness and satisfaction. It is a wonderful feeling that I have touched these children’s lives at the end of the day.
How do you feel about the Helen Doron English Method?
The Helen Doron English Method is one of a kind. The method works effectively as it enables children to absorb English in many positive ways. Besides, the learning environment in Helen Doron English has a positive atmosphere that makes the children feel like it is a second home to them. In addition, children can grasp the skills in English at their own speed. I love the two important processes in this method; repeated hearing and positive reinforcement. I must admit that these processes absolutely affects a child’s advancement tremendously.
I like the fact that the parents are involved in the method as well. Since I believe that a child’s home is the extension of what they gain at any learning place. The method of teaching in Helen Doron English is quite interesting. The teachers make their own props to extend a certain feel of attachment to their students. It makes the bond between the teacher and students stronger. Moreover, the activities in the lessons are simple but effective. The classes are relatively small which is an advantage. Helen Doron English supports children not only in their language proficiency but also in their social skills. The lessons are conducted in groups thereby permitting the children to interact with one another.
